The Community Theatre of Howell is presenting William Shakespeare’s beloved comedy “Much Ado About Nothing,” performed in modern English, Aug. 2-4 the Tanger Outlets Howell, 1475 N. Burkhart Road, Space D-250.
This fresh and engaging adaptation brings Shakespeare’s timeless wit and humor to life, making the classic play more accessible to today’s audiences while preserving its original charm and brilliance. Directed by Brad Rondeau, the production promises to deliver a delightful evening of entertainment, filled with laughter, love, and intrigue.
“Much Ado About Nothing” is one of Shakespeare’s most popular comedies, revolving around the romantic misadventures of two couples — Benedick and Beatrice, and Claudio and Hero. In Rondeau’s version of the play, the characters have been renamed to Prince Don Pedro and Simply Lady Dollie, and Count Fabio Wren and Hero Dollie. The play is a masterful blend of romance and comedy, featuring witty banter, mistaken identities, and a cunning plot that keeps audiences on the edge of their seats.
Performances are set for 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, and Saturday, Aug. 3, with a 2 p.m. show on Sunday, Aug. 4. Tickets can be purchased online at www.cththeatre.org or on the day of the event. Adult beverages will be available for purchase at the evening performances.
