Hartland’s Cromaine District Library is on the hunt for a new director less than three years after Mallorie DeVilbiss was hired to replace Ceci Marlow, who retired in late 2019.
DeVilbiss’ last day at the library is June 10.
“Although we are sad to see her leave, we are excited for her as she moves forward in her journey,” said Holly Naylor, president of the Hartland Cromaine Library’s board of directors. “We are truly grateful for her care, leadership and dedication to the Hartland community during the most-challenging times of the pandemic.”
DeVilbiss’ leaving was announced on the Cromaine Library’s Facebook page; there was no information shared as to what her future plans are.
“I am grateful for my time working at Cromaine,” DeVilbiss said. “Working in this community and with this fantastic staff has been a great honor, and I will certainly miss everyone I’ve met over the past two years.”
Glenn Fischer, the library’s technology manager, will serve as interim director as the library moves forward with a consulting firm that specializes in finding candidates for positions at libraries.
Prior to joining Cromaine, DeVilbiss had served as head of digital services at the Troy Public Library. She also served as youth programming and web librarian for Harris County Public Library in Texas.
