Members of the Howell High School FIRST Robotics Team, the S.C.O.T.S. Bots Team 4776, have been supporting front-line workers during the COVID-19 pandemic by creating 3-D printed N95 masks. Using their personal 3-D printers, S.C.O.T.S. Bots team members have already created and donated more than 400 of the masks, they have also been able to help businesses in the area, by providing sneeze screens so that their workers can also protect themselves

In addition the Livingston County Robotics Alliance — includig the Brighton TechnoDogs Team 3707; the Fowlerville The F.A.S.T. Team 7056; and the Hartland Electro Eagles Team 3536 — are also creating personal protective equipment (PPE) for front-line workers. Collectively, the teams have donated more than 1,000 items, including N95 masks, face shields, and comfort strips for the backs of the masks.

To support front-line workers, FIRST in Michigan has launched the 1 Million PPE Challenge, which challenges FIRST Robotics teams in Michigan to collectively donate a total of 1 million face shields, face masks, and safety glasses to hospitals, first responders, and other front-line workers.
