Jay Drick

Jay Drick appears to be well on his way to winning the seat on the Livingston County Board of Commissioners that he resigned in 2013 to become a Livingston County Magistrate.

The resignation earlier this year of incumbent Donald Parker led to several candidates filing for this Howell-area seat, and there are actually TWO primaries on the ballot – one to fill his seat temporarily, and one to fill it for two years. The same three Republicans filed for both elections – Lee Ann Blazejewski, Jay Drick and Mike Randall.

As of 10:30 p.m., Drick is holding an impressive lead in his quest to both fill the partial and full terms: In the race for the two-year term, Drick has 1,354 votes; Blazejewski has 829 votes; and Mike Randall has 669 votes. In the race for the partial term, Drick has 1,311 votes; Blazejewski has 830 votes; and Randall has 669 votes.

The 5th District covers the City of Howell, as well as Howell and Cohoctah townships.
