Sixteen years after it hosted its last big-name concert, the music is returning to the Fowlerville Fair this summer.

Country superstar John Michael Montgomery will be performing in Fowlerville on July 30 – the last day of the 2022 fair. The fair runs from July 25-30 at the Fowlerville Fairgrounds.

Word of the John Michael Montgomery concert first surfaced in a Facebook post. Pre-sale tickets will be available starting March 1.

One of the biggest acts in country music, Montgomery has had a string of No. 1 songs on the country charts, including “I Swear” and “I Love the Way You Love Me.”

And he’s actually making a return trip to the Fowlerville Fair – 28 years after he first performed there. Montgomery performed at the fair in 1994, sharing the stage with Suzy Bogguss.

Big-name concerts were an annual staple at the fair for decades, as this list shows. The last major concert at the fair was in 2006, when Carrie Underwood performed there.
