The Community Foundation for Livingston County has awarded $28,100 in grants to five Livingston County nonprofit organizations.
Those organizations receiving the 2021 grants are:
- $10,000 to LACASA to support the restoration of playgroups for children and parents
- $5,100 to Works Skills Corporation to support the purchase of three tabletop decontamination cabinets
- $5,000 to Howell Parks & Recreation to support the purchase and installation of security cameras for the Hive youth center
- $5,000 to Pinckney Community Public Library to support the purchase and installation of touchless water fountain stations
- $3,000 to Trinity Health/St. Joseph Mercy Livingston to support the creation of respite rooms for caregivers in emergency departments treating COVID patients
“The Community Foundation for Livingston County board is pleased to approve these grant requests,” said Board Chair Rick Scofield in a release. “We were able to help in funding new programs and services, as well as requests to provide needed COVID-related equipment.
“We are fortunate to have had so many contributors over the years to build the Community Foundation for Livingston County.”
Since its inception the Foundation has awarded in excess of $900,000 through more than 150 grants. Its goal is to support and improve public well-being and quality of life in the areas of economic development, human services, arts, civic affairs, education, health and the environment in Livingston County.
The Community Foundation for Livingston County has also established 19 funds to recognize individuals and businesses in Livingston County, growing the foundation’s endowment to more than $1 million. For more information, please visit www.cflivingston.org.
