Clarkston man arraigned in shooting death at downtown Howell business

Jeremy Michael Heath, 48, of Clarkston, was arraigned July 1, 2024, in Livingston County’s 53rd District Court on three charges in the June 28 shooting that claimed the life of Sean Thompson, 46, of Howell, at Metro Studios Ink, 104 W. Grand River Ave in downtown Howell.

Heath is lodged in the Livingston County Jail on $200,000 bond on charges of carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, felony firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon.

Howell police said previously that Heath fired one shot after Thompson allegedly made threats of violence. Police also said there was no indication Thompson was armed.

The Livingston County Prosecutor’s Office is continuing to review the matter related to the shooting, and the investigation is continuing.
