As of April 28, 2020, communities falling within Livingston County will no longer be under a Burn Ban. Area fire chiefs ask that you follow the below links to obtain a copy of the Burn Ordinance for the community in which you are wanting to burn. Ensure you review the Ordinance for your community prior to burning. This does not prevent an individual from calling 911 regarding you burning; follow these recommendations to ensure you are burning as safe as possible:
1. Be sure to burn only in low wind conditions.
2. Ensure you have a means to extinguish the fire nearby.
3. Fire must be attended at all times.
4. Ensure you are a safe distance away from structures.
5. Keep fires to a small manageable size.
If you have questions or concerns regarding burning, please contact your local fire department.
