The Livingston County Board of Commissioners on Monday authorized a three-year contract with Nathan Burd to serve once again as county administrator. Burd will resume his old position at the beginning of 2024.
Burd left Livingston County on Sept. 1 for a job as city manager in Nassau Bay, Texas.
The Livingston Post reported on Nov. 8 that Burd was returning to the county after two months in Texas.
The county administrator position is an appointment of the county board and is responsible for the overall management of the county.
A release from David Domas, chair of the Livingston County Board of Commissioners, said Burd will work with the Livingston County Board of Commissioners and residents to examine the needs of the county, the development of programs and services, and the evaluation of the county’s operations. Burd will also be responsible for overseeing the preparation of the annual budget request, assuring proper administration of the budget and financial policies to maintain the County’s AAA Moody’s Bond Rating.
Cindy Arbanas, Livingston County’s chief financial officer/deputy county administrator, has been serving as interim county administrator since Burd’s departure.
