Brighton Township sets large-item collection

Brighton Township is holding its large-item drop-off from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Station 32 Fire Hall at 1580 S. Old U.S. 23 in Brighton. Proof of residency is required.

Items being collected include washers and dryers, televisions, patio furniture, grills, old computer equipment bed springs, mattresses, hot water heater, furniture and toys.

Not accepted are liquid waste, florescent bulbs, car/boat parts, yard waste, construction debris, railroad ties, motor oil, pesticides, explosives, poisons, hazardous waste, tires, branches, stumps, batteries, liquid paint/solvents, anti-freeze, acid batteries, herbicides, medical waste, sod, rocks, bricks, dirt, automobiles, concrete or asphalt and items that contain freon. Lawn mowers and/or small engines must have the oil and gas removed at the time of drop-off.
