Their division title hopes are gone but there’s still plenty to play for as the Brighton girls basketball team plays host to Hartland tonight.
The game will be broadcast on The Livingston Post starting at around 7 p.m. Click here for the link.
For Brighton, it’s a chance to take control again in a roller-coaster season that saw the Bulldogs lose their first three game, win nine in a row, then lose their last five in a row.
The last loss mathematically eliminated Brighton (9-8 overall, 7-4 KLAA West) from the title chase. The Bulldogs are tied with Northville for third place in the division.
Hartland (10-8, 5-6) is out of contention as well, sitting in fifth place in the West. A Brighton win would guarantee the Bulldogs no worse than a fourth-place finish.
Brighton ended a long losing streak against the Eagles, 45-41, on Jan. 17. But if Hartland employs the same defensive strategy others have the last couple weeks during Brighton’s losing streak, coupled with the rivalry between the teams, it should be an interesting matchup.
