Marc and Michelle Harlow, proprietors of the business known as Bridget Gallagher’s Irish Tours and Treasures, announced today that the name of the business is formally changed to Triskel Tours and Celtic Treasures. The rebranding has been taking place over the summer and fall and is now close enough to the completion stage to make the official announcement.

The business is located at 201 S. Michigan Ave., at the corner of Sibley Street and Michigan Avenue. Triskel Tours and Celtic Treasures offers imported Irish and Irish- themed gifts and apparel and organizes tours to Ireland and Scotland. The Harlows have owned the business since 2017.

In rebranding the company, the couple decided on the symbol of a Triskel, (also seen as Triskele, Triskelion, Celtic spiral) for its logo. The Triskel is an ancient, pre-Christian symbol that has had a number of meanings ascribed to it over the centuries. Its triple spiral can represent the three cycles of life…birth, life and death. It was also adopted by Christian Ireland as another symbol representing the Trinity. Another interpretation is that it demonstrates motion – moving forward to a kind of unity. It’s that interpretation that represents the direction of the business – moving forward and evolving.

“The Bridget Gallagher name will always be a part of our history,” said Michelle Harlow. “It is the root of the company that ties it directly to Ireland. But the name is from a different era of the company, and it is now time for us to move forward.”

All aspects of the visible presence of the business will migrate to the new brand, including its online presence. The new web site is triskeltours.com. Those searching for the company using the Bridget Gallagher name will be redirected to the new web site. Emails will also use the Triskel Tours name, i.e., marc@triskeltours.com and michelle@triskeltours.com.

The Harlows emphasized the fact that the only thing that is changing is the name. They will still be traveling to Ireland and Scotland and are exploring tours to other Celtic nations in the future. They will also maintain ties to their longtime guide and coach driver for the tours, Brian Farrell of Burren Coaches.

“Our shop is not going anywhere,” said Marc Harlow, “so stop by to get your Irish favorites, along with a cuppa tea or maybe a wee dram.”
