State Rep. Bob Bezotte and the Livingston County Board of Commissioners presented special recognitions to Prosecutor David Reader on Monday, Dec.16. Bezotte, who previously served as Livingston County’s sheriff, talked about Reader’s commitment to public safety throughout the years in his roles as a county commissioner, judge, and prosecutor.
The recognition presented to Reader was signed by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist, state Sen. Lana Theis, and state Reps. Ann Bolin and Bezotte.
Domas presented Reader with a recognition from the Livingston County Board of Commissioners. Domas recalled working with David Reader during the time they served together on the county board.
“(Reader) exemplified an unwavering commitment to fairness, integrity, and justice,” Domas said. “He has been a champion of the law, bringing compassion when necessary, wisdom to each case he encountered, and ensuring that justice was not just a principle, but a reality for the people of Livingston County.”
Reader expressed great gratitude to his wife, Sally Reader, for her support throughout his career, and he acknowledged and recognized those in attendance at the meeting with whom he has worked with in his various capacities.
Reader retires Dec. 31. Carolyn Henry was elected to serve as Livingston County Prosecutor and will assume the role on Jan. 1. She currently serves as the Livingston County chief assistant prosecutor.
