Cleary University will host its second annual Sip, Savor and Support fundraising event featuring tastings of beer, wine and spirits, along with a wide selection of tapas to sample. Sip, Savor and Support begins at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 19, at Cleary Commons, 750 Cleary Drive in Howell, off Grand River Avenue and west of Latson Road.

Cost is $75 a person and includes several beverage tasting tickets to sample a selection of more than 50 beers and spirits from across Michigan, and more than 20 carefully chosen wines from around the globe. The evening also includes plenty of tapas, live music, a silent auction and a commemorative Cleary tasting glass.

All proceeds benefit Cleary students who are facing financial barriers to complete their education.

VIP sponsors are welcome. A $1,000 sponsorship includes a table for six, beverage tasting tickets for each person and bonus drink tokens, logo recognition for your business or company, and six souvenir glasses.

Donations and silent auction contributions are welcomed. To donate, contact
Katee Cole, Cleary’s chief of staff, at (517) 586-3002, or send an email to kcole@cleary.edu.

Some companies contributing spirits to Sip, Savor and Support include Mammoth Distilling, Ann Arbor Distilling, Shorts Brewing, Iron Fish Distilling, Old Nation Brewing and Long Road Distilling.

Proceeds from Sip, Savor and Support go to Cleary University’s Gift of Graduation, which provides desperately needed assistance to Cleary juniors and seniors who are close to graduation but short on funds to complete their education.

“Every student who drops out of school this close to graduation represents a major loss, not only for themselves, but for their family, prospective employers waiting to hire Cleary graduates, and the community,” said Tom Egan, director of Development at Cleary. “At Cleary, our goal is to help these students bridge the gap for needed funding so they can cross that graduation finish line.”
