Great news for those of us missing the fresh produce and gourmet items at Banana Jack’s Fresh Market.
The store, which closed at the end of the year to remodel its interior, reopens Thursday, March 24, with a brand-new, full-service delicatessen.
The work necessary to create the meat and deli counter includes cutting away part of the cement floor. Closing during the construction kept customers and merchandise safe — and clean.
Banana Jack’s is known for carrying high-quality, fresh-daily produce — including as many Michigan- and local-grown items as possible. The market will now carry prepared salads and sandwiches, and a wide variety of deli meats and cheeses. There will also be smoothies available, made with Banana Jack’s fresh produce.
This spring, the store will also carry a wide variety of hanging baskets and flats of flowers ready to plant.
Banana Jack’s is the only full-scale produce market in Livingston County, and it remains open-air as much as possible, a feature popular with customers who relish the market experience. It is conveniently located near the Lake Chemung/I-96 exit between Kohl’s and the new Secretary of State Super Center — “About 10 minutes to either downtown Howell or downtown Brighton,” said owner Jim Mancuso.
Banana Jack’s Fresh Market will be open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
