The two Howell High School students killed in Saturday’s crash at South Hacker and McClements roads in Genoa Township have been identified by authorities as Josh Pennala, a junior, and Len Eskola, a sophomore.

The two other Howell High School students in the same vehicle, who were transported to Providence Hospital in Novi by Livingston County EMS with non-life threatening injures, have been identified as Joel Eskola, a sophomore, and William Parks, a junior.

According to a Sunday morning release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, a 2007 Ford F-150 with the four boys inside was eastbound on McClements Road when it failed to stop at the signed intersection and struck a 1998 Honda Civic being driven by a 19-year-old male resident of South Lyon. The Ford F-150 left the roadway, ejecting the driver and one of the passengers, both of whom were pronounced deceased at the scene.

None of the boys in the Ford F-150 was wearing a seatbelt.

The driver of the Honda Civic was transported to U-M Medical Center in Ann Arbor with non-life threatening injuries by Livingston County EMS .

According to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
