Author Wes Browne returns to hometown Brighton for book-signing at 2 Dandelions Bookshop

Brighton native Wes Browne will be joined by Hammett Prize-winning author Stephen Mack Jones at 2 Dandelions Bookshop in Brighton on Thursday, April 24, at 6 p.m. for a discussion, reading, and book-signing centered around Browne’s recently released Kentucky-set crime novel “They All Fall the Same.”

Browne is a 1992 graduate of Brighton High School who also attended Hornung Elementary and Maltby Middle School. He was a captain of the football team and the tennis team and wrestled heavyweight before going on to play football at Albion College, where he graduated in 1996.

Browne graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1999 and has since practiced law as a criminal defense attorney, prosecutor, and public defender in Appalachia for over 24 years. He lives in Madison County, Kentucky, with his wife and his two sons both attend the University of Kentucky. He coached four different sports but recently retired after helping lead the Henry Clay High School Blue Devils boys’ lacrosse team to the state championship game. He also helps run his family’s pizza shops.

They All Fall the Same

“They All Fall the Same” was named one of 2025’s Biggest Mysteries and Thrillers by Goodreads and one of the Most Anticipated Books of 2025 by Book Riot’s Read or Dead. Browne’s debut novel, “Hillbilly Hustle,” was released in 2020 and was named one of Merriam Webster’s Most Recommended Lockdown Reads.

Jones is a Lansing native who currently lives in Farmington Hills. After a career in advertising and marketing, he penned four entries in the wildly successful August Snow novel series set in Detroit, which in addition to the Hammett Prize have also won a Nero Award, been a finalist for the Shamus Award, and the Steel Dagger Award, and twice been named Michigan Notable Books, as well as a New York Times Book Review Notable Book.
