Arts & Greens is back, set in the unique, festively-decorated Bogie Lake Greenhouses, 1525 Bogie Lake Road in White Lake, on Saturday, Nov. 23, and Sunday, Nov. 24.

Event hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday for the 18th annual event, which is a true pARTnership between Huron Valley Council for the Arts and the greenhouses.

HVCA’s Cynthia Ernst suggests visitors check out artists who have previously participated in Arts & Greens as well as those who are new to the event.

Artists returning to this year’s event include Roberta Rhodes with her intricately fashioned driftwood art; Ted and Julie Lepczynski with their Michigan/themed sterling jewelry; Cathy McMinn with her imaginative basketry; and Michelle Taylor’s delectable caramel treats packaged for gifting.

New this year are Carrie Mickey’s twisted and pieced wearable art; Laura Parker’s wet and needle felted sculptures; and pressed flower art crafted by Cora Albee.

“There will be a large spectrum of art offered,” Ernst said, “From jewelry, glass, woodworking, drawing, painting, prints, basketry, photography, weaving, wearable art, candles to unique felted fiber sculptures.”

In addition, members of The Art Shop (TAS), an artists’ collaborative based at HVCA, will have a presence at the event with a variety of art and fine craft items.

That’s not all: Cary Kocher’s performance including bubbles, steel drum and xylophone will add to the ambiance throughout the event. Food from Nonnie’s Best Food Truck will also be available during the event.

Bogie Lake Greenhouses offers free greens workshops at 11 a.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Pre-register and/or ask questions at blgreenhou@aol.com.
