Armed robber at Clyde Road Mobil makes off with cash, smokes

An early morning robbery on Friday, May 2, at the Mobil station on Clyde Road near U.S. 23 in Hartland Township saw a masked and armed man make off with an undisclosed amount of cash and cigarettes before fleeing the area on foot.

According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect is described as a Black male of unknown age, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a medium build, and wearing all-black clothing and a black face mask. The suspect entered the store at approximately 3:15 a.m. Once inside, the suspect produced a semi-automatic handgun and threatened the store employee, forcing them to open the cash register.

The suspect then fled the area. There is no vehicle description available.

The incident remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
