We asked questions of some of the students involved in the production. Here, we talk to Alexis Mosher, a junior at Hartland High School, who is the set head for “Almost, Maine.”

What do you think is the universal meaning behind this show?
The meaning of this show intends to demonstrate and enhance the different scenarios of romantic love. It showcases the most complicated and confusing parts, the tragedies of love, and other unusual, but realistic, scenarios of love. The writer wants his audiences to understand and accept different ways of loving.
What do you hope audiences will take away from this production?
I hope audiences can understand the impact of love on a person. Many people I know only see love as a tunnel, there is only one right way. I believe audiences will widen their scope on how love affects a person and the community. Due to the emotional baggage of this show, I also hope that audiences will give a little more effort to spread love and kindness to those around them.
What challenges did you encounter when preparing for your role? How did you overcome it?
A lot of the challenges I experience as a Set Head involve managing my time to balance all my set responsibilities along with other things in my life. As a set head, attending all the meetings is difficult, but being there is important to help motivate the crew and inspire them in their creative pursuits, but it is not always possible to be present at the meetings due to other set responsibilities such as learning the cues when set pieces need to be changed, which I must do during rehearsal, which occurs at the same time as set meetings.
How has your participation in Hartland Drama Club impacted your high school experience?
The Hartland Drama Club has inspired me to explore and try new things. Ever since I joined the club last year, I have genuinely expanded my range of skills, my passions, my social skills, and even some of my values. Overall, the Hartland Drama Club motivates students to interact with everyone and creates a giant sphere of a community.
