53rd District Court Judge Suzanne Geddis is running to fill the newly created Circuit Court position in Livingston County.

Geddis has been one of Livingston County’s three District Court Judges for over 13 years. In 2004, she became the first female judge to be elected to Livingston County’s District Court.

Because of the imbalance between the number of cases at the Circuit and District Court, the County Commissioners, the Supreme Court, and the Legislature agreed that one of the county’s District Courts should become a Circuit Court.

During her tenure, Geddis has often assisted the court as a Circuit Court judge by presiding over Circuit Court cases. The Circuit Court is where high-profile criminal trials take place; before running for judge, Suzanne Geddis was a prosecutor.
