Two walking tours of Historic Livingston County Courthouse step off Saturday

September 22, 2026

Two walking tours through the historic Livingston County Courthouse are set for 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Saturday. There are 30 spots open for each tour, and registration is required.

The tours will be led by Brandon Barefield, chief deputy of the Register of Deeds.

“We have a beautiful, historic landmark in the center of our downtown,” Barefield said. “I enjoy having the opportunity to share its history with our community.”

In past tours Barefield has pointed out charming facts, such as the fossils that can been seen in the Courthouse’s first floor marble, as well as who was the most famous person to appear in the historical courtroom, and much more.

To save your spot, click here and complete the registration form. If you’ll be joining a tour, remember to wear comfortable walking shoes.
