The Salvation Army of Livingston County’s Summer Lunch Bunch program kicks off its eighth season Monday with events in Howell and Brighton.

Last summer, The Salvation Army of Livingston County provided over 20,000 meals in just nine weeks through their Summer Lunch Bunch program. These meals helped families provide lunches for their children who might otherwise not have received lunch during the summer.

In addition to the meals, The Salvation Army’s Summer Lunch Bunch also provided fun and educational programs, field trips, referrals for needed resources and a meeting place for friends!

Join The Salvation Army at one of its two kick-off celebrations:

• Monday, June 13, 2016, at 2/42 Church in Brighton
The celebration begins at 11:15 a.m. and includes dance instruction by The Dance Project, a petting zoo by Amazing Pony, Explorer Program by the Department of Natural Resources, Native American education by Mike Jewell, and lots of fun and games.

• Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Southeast Elementary in Howell
The celebration begins at 11 a.m. and includes a bounce house, art extravaganza, Roray the Lion from the Detroit Lions, Star Wars costumed characters, and Freddie the Firetruck from the Howell Area Fire Authority.

Support for The Salvation Army’s summer meal program can be sent to P.O. Box 647, Howell, MI 48844, or dropped off at The Howell corps office at 503 Lake St., Howell. To volunteer, help with education/awareness, or obtain more information contact Liz at 517-546-4750 ext 347 or
