Slotkin joins problem solvers caucus in urging bipartisan cooperation to pass COVID relief package

U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin (D-Holly), an active member of the bipartisan Problem Solvers Caucus, joined the group in urging collaboration between both parties to pass a fourth COVID-19 stimulus package.

“As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Americans are counting on Congress to act,” the group said in a releae. “The impact of the coronavirus on our workers, families, health care providers, first responders, and communities continues to rise. Many counties, towns, cities, and states need relief after spending billions to address the pandemic — from testing to PPE — while facing a drastic cut in tax revenue as a result of the virus. It’s critical that we help all communities and local governments hit by COVID-19, regardless of size. Additional funding is needed to keep police officers, firefighters, transportation employees, teachers, EMTs, and other frontline workers on the job. As members of the bipartisan Problems Solvers Caucus, we stand ready to ensure that a bipartisan phase four stimulus package passes and delivers immediate aid to American families, local communities, health care providers, and businesses. Together, we can, and must, get this done.”

The Problem Solvers Caucus facilitates bipartisan problem solving in Congress by requiring membership to be evenly split between Democrats and Republicans.

This is the kind of leadership that we need in Washington . . . not the polarizing, fear-mongering that we’ve seen for over three years. Elisa Slotkin isn’t afraid to meet with those on the other side of the aisle and COMPROMISE . . . that dirty word that leads to progress instead of the gridlock we have now.
