State Rep. Ann Bollin, R-Brighton Township, on Tuesday welcomed retired police officer Mark Reckling to a special ceremony recognizing the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the United States.

Reckling, who joined as Bollin’s guest at the state Capitol, recently retired from the Unadilla Township Police Department; he also previously served as a police officer in Mason and Brighton.

The annual ceremony organized by the Michigan House of Representatives honors first responders and military members and remembers those from Michigan who have died in the line of duty.
