For a second year, downtown Howell’s dining scene maintained its absolute dominance among voters in The Livingston Post’s restaurant poll. Of the top five restaurants in the Best Overall category of our restaurant poll, four are located in Howell.

Leading the poll again this year is 2FOG’s Pub, the unique eatery with a speakeasy feel, which ranked tops for Best Overall Restaurant, followed closely by Diamond’s Steak & Seafood. Also scoring big among voters was the trio of Adam Merkel Restaurants — Diamond’s Steak & Seafood, Cello Restaurant, and the Silver Pig — each of which garnered a healthy helping of votes, including a first-place nod to Diamond’s for Best Fine Dining.

A big takeaway from this year’s poll is the triumphant arrival of Aberrant Ales to downtown Howell’s restaurant scene. Opening just six months ago, Aberrant Ales scored big in several categories, including Best Microbrewery.
