Livingston County ranks No. 2 for residents still without power in Michigan after powerful storms tore through the area Wednesday and Thursday.
As of 6:30 a.m. Monday, there were 2,553 homes and business without power, according to Poweroutage.US. All of those without power are DTE Energy customers.

Livingston County ranks between Oakland County, which is No. 1 with 3,896 customers currently without power, and Wayne County, No. 3 with 1,667 customers without power.
The severe weather that affected Southeast Michigan from Wednesday afternoon to Thursday evening brought with it damaging winds, large hail, and lots and lots of rain. The National Weather Service reports that the storms “also spawned a brief EF-0 tornado in Lincoln Park and an EF-2 tornado on the east side of Detroit. This was the first confirmed tornado in the city of Detroit since the F2 that impacted the city on July 2, 1997.”
The storms knocked out power to nearly 300,000 customers in Southeast Michigan.
According to the National Weather Service, many areas along and south of M-59 received between 2 and 4 inches of rain, while some areas in Livingston County received over 4 inches by Friday.
While the rainfall led to lots of ponding on roadways, “widespread flooding did not occur due to preceding dry conditions during the late summer.”
