MOD Pizza raises over $1,400 for Make-A-Wish

Brighton MOD Pizza restaurant, located at 8605 W. Grand River Ave., raised a total of $1,437 as part of its Spreading MODness campaign. The proceeds from the six-day fundraiser benefited Make-A-Wish® Michigan.

The Spreading MODness fundraiser, a week in which the company and its restaurants focus on supporting at-risk youth and families, ran from Tuesday, Nov. 22, to Sunday, Nov. 27.

During the campaign, MOD Pizza in Brighton donated $1 for every MOD sized pizza purchased to Make-A-Wish Michigan. Joining over 175 nonprofits across the U.S. that were the beneficiaries of Spreading MODness 2016, Make-A-Wish Michigan inspires and changes the lives of local children with life-threatening medical conditions by granting hundreds of wishes each year.

“We’re very thankful for the generosity that the local community has shown this holiday season during our Spreading MODness campaign,” said Jake Schostak, MOD’s brand leader. “As we strive to Spread MODness year-round, this campaign offers the perfect way to highlight the inspiring work that Make-A-Wish Michigan does every day and helps us motivate others to do good, creating a ripple effect throughout the entire community.”

Based in Seattle, MOD’s individual artisan-style pizzas are made on demand, using fresh-pressed dough and signature sauces, including MOD red sauce and MOD white sauce. As the company that launched the fast-casual pizza niche, guests can create their own pizzas and salads, using any combination of more than 30 fresh-featured toppings, or they can choose from a menu of MOD classics.

Each pizza is hand-cooked in an 800 degree oven in five minutes or less and salads are hand-tossed in front of the customer. MOD also serves local draft beers, wine, handspun milkshakes, and house-made lemonades and iced teas.

In late 2014, TSFR announced its plans to launch 25 MOD Pizza locations in Michigan over the next five years. TSFR opened its first five MOD Pizza locations last year in Livonia, Northville, Rochester Hills, Woodhaven and Brighton, with three more locations underway in Chesterfield, Canton and Shelby Township.
