An active sing-along, clap-along concert with Jim Gill is set for 10:30-11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 16, at 2|42 Community Center, 7526 Grand River Ave. in Brighton. The event is sponsored by the Brighton, Cromaine, Howell Carnegie, and Fowlerville district libraries.
Attendees can clap, jump, spin, and dance as Gill bangs out energetic rhythms on his banjo, and shares songs and stories from his award-winning recordings and books for young children.
No registration is required.
Gill completed his studies in child development at the Erikson Institute of Chicago with an emphasis on the study of play. Each of his recordings, concerts, and books are opportunities for playful interactions between a child and a caring adult.
Gill has released 10 award-winning CDs of music play for young children that are favorites in family rooms, classrooms, and playrooms. His is also the author of two childrens books: “A Soup Opera,” and “May There Always Be Sunshine.”
