LCAS Adoption of the Week: The Real Housecats of Livingston County

Ready to meet the latest Real Housecats of Livingston County? They are on the prowl for their chance to shine in your home.

Meet Scarlett! This petite, 2-year old momma tabby was found outside with her litter of kittens (all which have been adopted) and now she is looking for her own forever home. Scarlett is sweet and adventurous and would love the opportunity to be an indoor/outdoor cat so she can explore. She loves to play and cuddle but tends to get moody when confined indoors. Scarlett has been spayed and is up to date on her medical. Her adoption fee is $25.

Meet Raine! This beautiful and sassy 2-year old is ready to get out the shelter. Raine would love a home with no other cats and no small children. She loves people but prefers adults. We believe that her attitude will adjust when she gets some freedom and space. Raine is front declawed so cannot be a full-time outdoor cat; it would not be fair for her survival. She is spayed and up to date on medical. Her adoption fee is $25.

Meet Leia! This adorable little lady is a 1-year old tabby with gorgeous eyes and soft brown and black fur. She is a new addition to the shelter, so we are still learning about her personality. Come mingle with her in the cat room and find out more for yourself.

No Drama. No Gossip. Just plenty of Catitude.

Looking to add a new member to your family? Check out Scarlett, Raine, Leia, and other animals available for adoption at or call (517) 546-2154 for more information. If you are interested in a foster-to-adopt option, please contact the shelter, or come by for a visit.

By day, Cheryl Ellis is a project manager at a specialty pharmacy. The rest of her waking hours are spent taking photos for her website, Harvest Moon Photography. She was inspired to start volunteering at the Livingston County Animal Shelter after adopting a senior cat named Samson.
