Judicial Tenure Commission looks to amend charges against Brennan

The Michigan Judicial Tenure Commission is amending the complaint against embattled 53rd District Court Judge Theresa M. Brennan to include the following charges: persistent failure to treat persons fairly or courteously; conduct clearly prejudicial to the administration of justice; and making false statements. Brennan is currently facing charges of abusing her judicial power; and failing to disclose a personal relationship that constituted clear conflicts of interest in the wake of an affair with a Michigan State Police detective assigned to a lead position for a 2013 murder case eventually heard in Brennan’s courtroom.
