Green Door Studio is celebrating its three years of flipping furniture and sharing creative art classes with a four-day celebration beginning Wednesday, Aug. 31 and culminating Saturday, Sept. 3.
Owners Linda Neff and Rachel Poniatowski are filling the Studio with pieces from their garages, sheds and storage unit for a special celebration sale of painted pieces, project pieces and other items available in the Studio. Spillover will find its way to the parking lot Saturday, weather permitting.
“As long as the weather holds out Saturday, we intend to bring everything we have been collecting,” Neff said. “You can only hold on to so much before you run out of space. This sale should lighten our load so we can do all over again.”
Neff and Poniatowski agree it’s hard to pass up a beautiful piece or a great bargain. The two have become experts at packing their vehicles with great finds on an unexpected road trip. They were vendors at the Michigan Antique Festivals in Davisburg in the spring and will have two booths there Oct. 1-2.
“It was our first vendor show,” said Poniatowski. “The weather wasn’t the best, but the show was successful and just a lot of fun, so we’re doing it again.”
Green Door Studio offers painted furniture, custom painting, home décor items, quality bags and totes by Backroads Textiles. The Studio is a stockist for Pixie Dust Paint Company, carrying the company’s full line of mineral paint additives and all-natural, vegan-friendly finishing waxes.
A variety of creative classes taught by Neff and guest instructors bring community creatives together in a cozy, friendly setting. Classes run the gamut from Artist Trading Cards, Art Journaling, wreath-making to painted furniture.
“We have a small, comfortable classroom area so students get to know each other and many who have met in classes have created long-lasting friendships,” Neff said.
Green Door Studio’s three-year celebration includes sales of 10 percent off any purchase of $50 or more; 15 percent off $150 or more (excludes custom-paint quotes and previous purchases). Get creative Saturday and try your hand at creating a fall-themed tag, and enjoy refreshments. Candy Scraps will be a vendor Saturday as well with some of her garden-themed pieces and more.
