Fenton man dies in Tyrone Township crash

September 30, 2026

Alcohol and speed appear to be factors in a crash on Tuesday in which a 35-year-old Fenton man died; the crash remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Bureau.

According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the crash site on Hartland Road north of Jeffers Lane in Tyrone Township at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The preliminary investigation indicates that the man was driving a 2026 GMC Sierra south on Hartland Road when it went off the road to the right and crashed into a tree. The man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The roadway remained closed for about four hours for investigation and clean up. Deputies were assisted by Fenton City Police, Fenton City Fire Department, Medstar Ambulance, and the Livingston County Medical Examiner’s Office.
