Email Marketing – A Great Way to Get Social!

Before Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn came into view we had email and with all of the attention social media is getting these days remember that the first and most successful social communication method is already at your fingertips.

If you are not incorporating email into your online marketing plan you are leaving out a major component. It is the one that connects you with customers directly.

If you are curious as to why email is so important ask yourself these questions.

What is the first thing you check when you start up your computer at home or at work?

What do you rely on to transfer memos and information at work or in business?

Do you have a mental breakdown at work if the email is “down”?

How many people do you know without an email address?

How many hours a day do you spend on email vs. social media?

If you are not sold, try thinking about it like this.

  1. Social media is popular and over 62% of the world has joined at least one social media site.
  2. In order to sign up for a social media site you must provide an email address.
  3. There are still people (38%) who are not using social media.
  4. Most of those 38% are using email.

This is precisely why I love incorporating email with my online marketing plan.  I want to make sure that I am reaching prospects that are not involved with social media or prefer direct, personalized conversations.  With a number of programs available online, you now have the ability to easily manage great email campaigns and customize the content for your audience.

I wish you much success on your online marketing adventure and try hard not to forget your good old stand-by, email!
