Dire Comics is opening its doors at noon, Friday Aug. 19, 2016, at 213 E. Grand River Ave. in the heart of downtown Howell. The store will be offering giveaways, $1 comics, and discounts throughout the day.
In addition to stocking the store with all the latest and hottest comics, Dire Comics will be selling card games, board games, collectibles, toys, and apparel. Gaming tournaments will be held throughout the week, as well as how-to-draw comics classes, sci-fi and fantasy writing groups, book clubs featuring a staffs pick of notable graphic novels, as well as topical events and contests throughout the year. A weekly Coffee and Comics discussion group will be offered to the community to join the store for free coffee and discuss the latest news regarding comics, movies, and other news relating to the comic industry.
Dire Comics’ grand opening will be on Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016, and will feature signings from prominent comic book artists and authors.
