County Health Department: Risk reduction efforts paying off

As the Livingston County Health Department (LCHD) continues to schedule COVID-19 vaccinations as quickly as possible, appointments are limited by vaccine supply.

The LCHD recommends that anyone wanting to be vaccinated should add their name to multiple waiting lists, and check the websites of their primary healthcare provider and local pharmacist for information about being added to their vaccination waiting lists, if available.

Some information gleaned from the report:

• The number of COVID-19 deaths in Livingston County stands at 124.

• The average age of residents with confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 is 41.

• The county’s test positivity rate of 5.3% is higher than that of the state as a whole, which clocks in at 4.1%.
