Want to golf with celebrity athletes?

LACASA Center is hosting a celebrity golf outing this year and the early-bird deadline to register and be entered in a drawing to win Detroit Tigers tickets is Friday, May 20, at 5 p.m.

The nonprofit’s Drive Out Child Abuse Golf Scramble is set for Monday, June 20, at Whispering Pines Golf Club in Pinckney.

This year’s event features celebrity athletes from professional Detroit sports teams. Larry Murphy and John Ogrodnik, former Detroit hockey players, Eddie Murray, former Detroit football player and Pat Sheridan, former Detroit baseball player, all will participate in the event.

Major sponsorships still are available for companies and individuals who would like a professional athlete to golf with them as part of a foursome. For sponsorship information, contact Hollie Schrock, LACASA special events coordinator, at (517) 548-1350.

Early-bird golfers can register online at lacasacenter.org for a chance to win four tickets to a Tigers’ game this summer. The golf outing is $85 per person, or $340 per foursome. Dinner-only tickets are available for $30 each. A silent auction will be held during the dinner hour.

Proceeds from the Drive Out Child Abuse Golf Scramble benefit critical children’s programs at LACASA.
