Two charter school teachers from Livingston County have been named semi-finalists for the Michigan Charter School Teacher of the Year award, putting them among the top 25 charter school educators in the state. The list of semi-finalists was announced today by the Michigan Association of Public School Academies (MAPSA), the state charter school association.

The honorees are Liz Holland, a spanish teacher at Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy in Brighton; and Lyndsay Grasman, a science teacher at Kensington Woods Schools in Pinckney.

“There are more than 10,000 charter school teachers Michigan, so this is a tremendous honor,” said MAPSA President Dan Quisenberry. “These are truly some of the most talented and dedicated educators in the state.”
