TG Fluid Systems USA Corporation (TGFSUS), a subsidiary of leading automotive supplier Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd., recently began expansion of its Brighton facility. TGFSUS is currently in the process of adding more than 62,000 square feet to its Brighton facility to increase its capacity. When the renovation is complete, TGFSUS’ three facilities will merge into one Brighton facility. This move will help TGFSUS operate more efficiently and successfully.
“This is an exciting time for TGFSUS,” said Brian Foddrill, president of TGFSUS. “With the completion of the consolidation, we will have all of our people and operations under one roof. Included in that, the development of a new and improved test lab to support product development.”
TGFSUS is investing nearly $11 million in the expansion, which is expected to increase capacity by 25 percent. In addition, the company plans to hire 35 more employees in the next three years. The investment and increased headcount will help TGFSUS meet growing customer demand as well as increase efficiency of the business.
TGFSUS was acquired by Toyoda Gosei Co., Ltd., from Eagle Pitcher in 2000 and has since seen tremendous growth in the Livingston County area. At the time of the acquisition, TGFSUS’ sales were $5 million and the facility employed nearly 70 people. In 2015, the company invested approximately $9.3 to open the current Brighton facility in order to support the growing business. By the end of fiscal year 2016, TGFSUS has increased sales to approximately $111 million. In addition, TGFSUS, which supplies functional components to automotive companies, produced a record number of 27.6 million parts in 2016.
In addition to its business contributions, TGFSUS is committed to giving back to the Brighton and Livingston County community organizations. TGFSUS has donated to the Livingston County United Way for the last 15 years, and has contributed to other local organizations, including Brighton High School, Toys for Tots, and Work Skills. In 2016, TGFSUS donated more than $18,500 to these local charities and more.
