Howell girls basketball coach Tim Olszewski has moved and revamped the AAU program he has run for several years.
In its ninth year, the former Tri-County Tigers have been renamed TC Elite, moved from Fenton to Howell, and is adding girls teams for the first time.
“We’re looking for the top players (boys and girls) from middle school and high school teams to come win with us,” Olszewski said in a press release. “We have enjoyed a lot of success over the last eight years and want to secure the top talent in the area.”
Tryouts will be held at Howell High School beginning at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. The TC Elite will offer six girls programs, for sixth through 11th-grade players. Boys in grades 7-9 will try out at 6 p.m. and boys in grades 10 and 11 at 7:30 p.m.
Teams will play in at least five tournaments and, possibly, what the release called “a major tournament” in July.
Players are asked to arrive 30 minutes before their tryouts to register, and the fee is $15. Individuals may try out for more than one age bracket at no extra cost.
