Statewide organization names Pat Convery top chamber professional in Michigan

//

Pat Convery, president of the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce, is the 2017 Michigan Chamber Professional of the Year. She received the honor from the Michigan Association of Chamber Professionals on Oct. 26, 2017, at the awards banquet during its annual convention, held this year in Grand Rapids.

The MACP is a statewide association representing over 300 chambers of commerce in Michigan.

Convery’s award is one of a string of big honors the Howell chamber has garnered. Last year, the Howell Area Chamber of Commerce was named the top chamber in the state by the MACP; it was a finalist for that award again this year in the category of large chambers, which is based on revenue. Howell is the smallest of all large chambers in Michigan, and its fellow finalists this year included the Grand Rapids and Lansing chambers.

Convery is a graduate of the US Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management at Villanova University and is a past board member for the Institute Board of Regents at Villanova. As chair of MACP, Convery also served on the Michigan Chamber of Commerce board of directors as the local chamber representative. She was elected chairperson of the MACP board of directors in 2016.
