The 8th Annual Runway Repurposed is searching for contestants to register for a unique, eco-friendly fashion design program hosted by the Livingston Arts Council. Runway Repurposed is a fundraiser for the Howell Opera House that combines the art of fashion design with the use of recycled clothing and materials.

All ages are welcome to register for the competition in one of the designer categories: Young Beginner, Student Beginner, Adult Beginner, Advanced, and Avant Garde.  Potential designers choose clothing and materials at registration from a collection of several hundred donated pieces to recreate a new, original garment to showcase on the runway event on Feb. 21, 2016, at Crystal Gardens Banquet Center, Howell. The finished garments are judged and prizes and trophies are awarded to the 1st,  2nd,  and 3rd place winners of each category. Cash prizes will be awarded only to the 1st , 2nd, and 3rd place Advanced Designer winners.

Registration will be held at the Howell Opera House from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 11; Tuesday, Jan. 12; and Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2015. The Howell Opera House is located at 123 W. Grand River Ave. in downtown Howell.
