Be Our Guest Adult Day, a program of Livingston County Catholic Charities, is hosting the Creating Confident Caregivers six-week series on Thursdays from 4-6 p.m., beginning with Oct. 5. This is a free program, but participants must register as class size is limited.
Creating Confident Caregivers® is for family caregivers of persons with dementia who are living at home. It provides knowledge, skills, and information to improve caregiving for both the caregiver and the person with dementia.
The program helps to reduce caregiver stress; improve caregiver confidence; increase knowledge and understanding of dementia and memory loss; understand behaviors caused by dementia; handle everyday activities more easily; develop techniques to assist the person with dementia; improve outlook as a caregiver; and make time for the caregiver.
Care for your family member with dementia can be provided at no cost with advance notice.
For more information and to register for the workshop, contact Area Agency on Aging 1-B at (800) 852-7795.
