Mourad’s Grill replacing Howell Big Boy

///

The Big Boy restaurant at 2222 E. Grand River Ave. in Howell will open Tuesday with a new identity: Mourad’s Grill, named after long-time owner Ed Mourad. Gone will be the Big Boy franchise, but the restaurant, which remains owned by Mourad, will have a brand new name, a new interior and some new menu items, including expanded beverage choices.

Those new menu items include a New York strip steak, as well as salmon.

“The new things on the menu are really good,” said manager Ginger Cummings.

Also getting a makeover is the fish and chips, which will be coated by a batter made with Bell’s Two Hearted Ale that tastes “great,” according to Cummings.

Fans of the popular salad bar and weekend breakfast bar can rest easy, as these will remain, along with the restaurant’s staff.

“We’re pretty excited,” Cummings said.

You can contact Big Boy/Mourad’s Grill at (517) 548-1800.
