Livingston County residents have lots of Memorial Day parades to choose from. Here is a list of the Memorial Day parades and other events scheduled. We hope you turn out to remember and honor the veterans who make our way of life possible.
The Brighton Memorial Day Parade begins at 10 a.m. at Brighton High School. It heads north on Main Street into downtown Brighton for festivities at the Brighton Millpond.
The Fowlerville Memorial Day Parade begins at 10 a.m. at the VFW Post 6464, 215. S. Veterans Drive, and heads east on Grand River Avenue through the downtown to a ceremony at Greenwood Cemetery on Cemetery Road.
The Hamburg Memorial Day Parade begins at 10 a.m. at the Old Fire Station off Hamburg Road and travels through the Village of Hamburg to Hamburg Cemetery on Strawberry Lake Road. Following the parade will be a service honoring veterans.
Hartland’s Memorial Day festivities kick off with a pancake breakfast from 7-11 a.m. at Village Elementary School, 10632 Hibner Road. Adults eat for $8; seniors and children eat for $6.
The Hartland Memorial Day Parade begins at noon at the Hartland Middle School at Ore Creek and travels to Village Elementary School. Visitors will be able to enjoy a flyover by the Yankee Air Museum if weather permits, and there will be lots of fun activities and games throughout the day.
The Howell Memorial Day Parade begins at 10 a.m. at the Howell Carnegie District Library, 314 W. Grand River Ave.. It heads east on Grand River Avenue, then north on Barnard Street before reaching Lakeview Cemetery. The parade ends with a service honoring veterans.
The Pinckney Memorial Day festivities begin with a Memorial Day 5K fun and walk at 9 a.m. and a kids’ mile fun run at 8:30 a.m. beginning at the People’s Church, 500 W. Main Street. There will be food and music in the park 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pinckney’s Memorial Day Parade begins 1 p.m. on Hamburg Street, east of Pearl Street.
