Livingston County goes for Trump, feels the Bern

//

Primary graphicIn Tuesday’s Presidential Primary, Livingston County’s Republicans gave a thumbs up to Donald Trump, while Democrats gave the nod to Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Perhaps even more interesting is that Livingston County voters liked the two anti-establishment candidates at a higher percentage than did voters statewide and in the 8th Congressional District (which includes all of Livingston County).

It seems Livingston County’s Democrats felt the Bern. A lot. The senator from Vermont, who switched from Independent to the Democratic Party to run for president, received nearly two-thirds of the 10,435 votes cast in the county’s Democratic primary.

There were 39,069 votes cast in the Livingston County GOP primary.
