Michigan’s charter schools are hiring. And on March 17, teachers and other educators will have a chance to be the first to apply for hundreds of new job openings for the coming school year. Michigan’s charter schools are growing and enrollment is booming around the state, so hundreds of new jobs are coming open.
MAPSA, the state charter school association, is hosting a Virtual Job Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. EST on March 17, giving educators and charter school job recruiters a chance to connect online.
“There are so many benefits that come with working in a charter school, and we’re excited to showcase the hundreds of new opportunities that are available around the state for the coming school year,” said MAPSA President Dan Quisenberry. “Teachers love working in a charter school because they’re truly empowered to make a difference in the lives of their students – moreso than in any other type of school. You have an opportunity to be innovative, creative and flexible.”
At 11 a.m. on March 17, hundreds of new job postings will be released, giving MAPSA’s job board registrants an opportunity to be the first to view and apply for the variety of jobs available. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., job recruiters at charter schools around the state will be online and available to ask and answer questions. Recruiters will also be looking to set up interviews as soon as possible after that.
“If you’re looking for a teaching job or any other type of job in a school, this is the best opportunity you’ll have this year,” Quisenberry said. “There will be jobs posted for teachers, administrators and other school positions at charter schools in every corner of the state. You can search through hundreds of brand-new job postings and apply right away. If you’re looking for a job, this will be the most valuable four hours you’ll spend all year.”
There is no charge for teachers and other job-seekers looking to take part in the March 17 Virtual Job Fair. All they need to do is go here to create a profile and upload their resume. Then at 11 a.m. on March 17, go here to view the hundreds of new job postings. If you need help, contact Candace Embry, MAPSA’s Business Services Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
