Howell Area Historical Society hosting yard sale at Depot Museum

The Howell Area Historical Society is holding a yard sale from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Depot Museum at 128 Wetmore St. in downtown Howell.

The sale will feature household and decorative items, books and much more.

The organization in 1971 bought the depot, which was originally built in 1886, and the caboose, built in 1888. After working on the depot to get it habitable, the organization opened it as a museum; the caboose is close to being completely restored.

The furnace in the depot is in need of replacement, and all money raised from the yard sale will go toward that effort.
