Rod Bushey, director of choirs at Howell High School since 1972, is retiring at the end of this school year, and former choral music students from the past 44 years are being sought to make a memorable farewell for him.
The high school auditorium is being renamed the Rod Bushey Performing Arts Center in his honor, and the renaming will take place following a Reunion Concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 22 . All of Mr. Bushey’s former students are encouraged to participate in the concert, but pre-registration is required and the April 8 deadline is drawing closer.

A fundraising campaign raised more than $10,000 to offset the costs associated with the auditorium renaming, such as signage and a plaque honoring Bushey, which will all be revealed at the May 22 event.
