The Charyl Stockwell Preparatory Academy girls basketball team held on to win a tough away matchup Friday night, 38-34, against Livingston Christian Schools. CSPA moved to 2-1 on the season with the win.
Jessica Emrick scored a game-high 13 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead the CSPA Sentinels on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor and making 5-of-8 attempts from the charity stripe. Carolina Curcuru added 9 points and Samantha Lyons added 8 for a the Sentinels. Julianna Woolford scored 12 points to lead Livingston Christian.
CSPA held on to beat the LCS Falcons after leading by 18 half.
“Foul trouble caused our offense to stall in the fourth quarter,” CSPA coach Laurie DeLorenzo said. The Sentinels had two players foul out early in the fourth quarter, changing the game momentum.
“We were very fortunate to hold on to this victory, and must do a better job closing out our games moving forward,” DeLorenzo said.
